Sales Manager / Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager

A Sales Manager / Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager is required for a technical sales role focused on industrial automation products across target customers and new market segments. This is a customer-facing role suited to a commercially minded sales professional with a strong engineering background and experience selling automation components into industrial markets.

The Sales Manager will identify new customers, develop long-term account strategies, build relationships from operational contacts through to executive level, and manage opportunities through meetings, RFQs, testing and award stages. The role will involve regular travel, new product promotion, CRM reporting and close collaboration with product management teams.

Role:

\n
• Identify new customer segments and target accounts for industrial automation products.
\n
• Develop new business opportunities through direct customer engagement, cold calling and relationship building.
\n
• Act as the lead point of contact for assigned customers across commercial and technical matters.
\n
• Maintain knowledge of customer product roadmaps to identify new sales opportunities.
\n
• Build and maintain customer relationships from daily operational contacts through to executive level.
\n
• Support successful delivery against customer needs and business objectives.
\n
• Provide budget, forecast and pipeline metrics for assigned accounts.
\n
• Maintain timely activity reports and update opportunities in the CRM system.
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Experience as a Sales Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Account Manager or similar industrial sales role.
\n
• Minimum 5 years’ experience selling automation components such as VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, motors or servos.
\n
• Experience selling into markets such as HVACR, pumps, food and beverage, logistics or similar industrial sectors.
\n
• Engineering background is required.
\n
• Ability to develop and implement long-term account strategies for continuous growth.
\n
• Strong ability to identify decision makers and build close relationships within target accounts.
\n
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of working time, including out-of-state and international travel where required.
